The Episcopal School in North Philadelphia

St. James School’s Community Christmas Celebration 2010 was nothing less than a success. With so many people in attendance (60+), and so many smiling children going home, we hope that our festivities brought a little Christmas cheer to all. The evening began at 5pm with Christmas Caroling in the neighborhood, led by board chair Dr. Audrey Evans. The community celebration began with prayer and information about the night, followed by an open buffet of sandwiches and refreshments. School staff provided information about the current After School program and the plans to open the school with 5th grade in September. Crystal Oden led the entire room in Christmas carols, and soon after we held our Christmas Celebration Raffle. St. James School was able to give away six donated children’s bicycles and two beautiful gift baskets. The evening ended with a St. James School gift-giving — each child present received a wrapped toy as a token of our thanks and wishes for a Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays to everyone! The evening was made possible through the generosity of St. Mark’s Church (Locust Street), St. Asaph’s Church (Bala Cynwyd), St. Matthew’s U.M. Church (Trevose), and several generous individuals.
