Thanks to the generosity of the Fairmount Park Commission, 30 new street trees line the sidewalks of St. James School. As a result of a growing partnership between the park commission, East Falls Tree Tenders and St. James School, our school property and surrounding streets have become more attractive and more environmentally friendly.
Students are in the process of learning about the benefits of adding street trees to urban areas thanks to a recent study conducted by Texas A&M. In a recent morning meeting, students expressed their own enjoyment of seeing their new trees as they arrive in the morning and leave in the evening.
