The first annual Thanksgiving feast was held for students and their families. Setting up a lovely dining area in the school’s gym, the evening’s success was accomplished through the communal efforts of everyone at the table. Each parent and staff member brought a covered dish to add to the wonderful array of foods. Special thanks to Ms. Yvonne Cunningham (mother of Kanyana Reese) for orchestrating food families would bring.
The evening began with a prayer, followed by a wonderful song the fifth graders have been working on with music teacher Ms. Beth Dzwil.
The evening was capped by students playing hula hoop and generally running around the empty half of the gym. It seemed not even the old adage of the tiring turkey could slow them down!
