Three 5th grade students with excellent attendance — Keenan, Lindelle and Tyahmiya — were chosen to attend a boxing clinic at Washington Boxing Academy in King of Prussia, PA.

Alden Washington, professional coach and trainer, took the students through an hour long training session that included skipping rope, technical footwork, and in-the-ring training. Mr. Washington took time to talk to the students about physical fitness, conditioning and the importance of non-violent self defense and self discipline. St. James students also learned about boxing safety and tried on some equipment. They were able to ask lots of questions and even went home with their own hand wraps.
