Volunteers from the Four Counties Garden Club visited to show the students how to plant daffodil bulbs that will grow heartily in the spring. Led by Hally Stief, a group of the club’s volunteers brought over 400 bulbs…along with gloves, shovels, rakes, and other tools to accomplish the large task.

Beds were created in front of the school’s main entrance and under the statue of Saint Joseph. After a brief presentation by Four Counties Garden Club member Pinkie Hamilton, students paired up and pulled out smocks for kneeling…then got to work.

After a fun and messy time digging in the dirt, the student proudly placed sticks in the ground with their name written on them. In the spring, they’ll be able to witness firsthand their flowers coming to life each day they enter the school.
