The Episcopal School in North Philadelphia

A staff dinner was hosted in the cottage of the Church of St. James the Less to welcome the new school year, and create a space for new and old faces to mingle. The event was catered by Di Bruno Brothers as a special thanks for partnering with the school’s garden program.

The evening brought a special surprise for Executive Director David Kasievich. Orchestrated by school marketing director Al Cassidy and co-founder Dr. Audrey Evans –and with the help of Associate Development Director Maria Newman, who had to keep everything under cover–board members, staff, and friends were asked to contribute to the Opening Doors campaign (benefiting the renovation of the 6th grade classroom) in David’s honor.

All told, $4,500 was given in honor of St. James School’s executive director, who celebrated his 2nd year of service to the school on August 30th.

Co-founders Fr. Sean Mullen and Dr. Audrey Evans presented a certificate announcing the honor, along with the names of those who gave. Needless to say, David was shocked and ever grateful, commenting how, though he began his work on a vacant property overrun with weeds and brush, he could not have come this far without the help of the hundreds who have graced this space. Amen!

Congratulations, Mr. Kasievich. Here’s to another two years of service…and beyond!
