The Episcopal School in North Philadelphia

Students traveled to the Kimmel Center where they heard the Philadelphia Orchestra‘s production of “Beethoven Lives Upstairs.”  They sat near the front of the stage close to the bass section where they could see the string players up close. Students marvelled at how fast the violinists moved their fingers!

Student also received a visit the previous Monday by Jill Raich, Philadelphia Orchestra docent, who shared some of the music that our students would be hearing and some interesting tidbits about Beethoven. Both grades have studied Beethoven and the instruments of the orchestra, and were held captive by this marvelous performance. St. James School is grateful to the Philadelphia Orchestra for providing these programs and for their gift of a poster from the orchestra (eventually framed by Mother Marie and hung in the music room by Roberto Morales).
