On October 3, after a week of rigorous rehearsals, students presented an amazing version of Red Riding Hood to a packed audience of family, friends, and community members. This thanks to a partnership with Missoula Children’s Theatre, where our own Ms. Annie Lerew once worked.
Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) is the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, visiting nearly 1,200 communities a year from Montana to Japan. An MCT tour team arrived at St. James School one week before the performance date with set, lights, costumes, props and makeup–everything it takes to put on a play. All they needed was the cast.
Auditions were held at the school on Monday with over 30 children cast, including St. James School students and students from neighboring Logan Hope School. Students worked with MCT actors daily at rehearsals to prepare for the performance at William Penn Charter High School. After a busy week of learning stage directions and memorizing lines, the cast wowed the crowd with their energetic, talented performances.
Congratulations to the entire cast on a wonderful play.
