Guests enjoy connecting and dancing

On Friday, October 23,  a sold out crowd of nearly 150 people gathered at St. Christopher’s Church in Gladwyne for a delightful evening of fellowship, food and music.

School Chef Deborah Anthony created a delicious and healthy dinner for guests to enjoy. Dinner was followed by a few introductions, then The Singing Vicars– comprised of The Rev. Frank Allen and The Rev. Kevin Moroney (both of St. David’s Episcopal Church, Wayne), and The Rev. Hillary Raining of St. Christopher’s Church in Gladwyne--played everything from hits by the Beatles to Mumford and Sons. The Singing Vicars know how to rock.

Dinner

Dinner is prepared by School Chef Deborah Anthony along with the help of Bob White and Mary Hopkins

The event was an opportunity for guests from several churches to see old friends and meet new friends all while raising funds and awareness for St. James School. As an added surprise, an anonymous donor agreed to match all funds raised through the event. Guests rose to the challenge and helped raise a full student scholarship and then some. The evening’s fundraising totaled $34,000.

Special thanks to:

  • St. Christopher’s for hosting
  • Moore Brothers for providing wine
  • Chef Deborah Anthony, Bob White and Mary Hopkins for providing a delicious dinner
  • Event committee members Peggy Maltz and Linda McConnell
  • And especially The Singing Vicars
