The Singing Vicars perform at St. Christhoper’s Church, Gladwyne, to raise funds for St. James School
On Friday, October 23, a sold out crowd of nearly 150 people gathered at St. Christopher’s Church in Gladwyne for a delightful evening of fellowship, food and music.
School Chef Deborah Anthony created a delicious and healthy dinner for guests to enjoy. Dinner was followed by a few introductions, then The Singing Vicars– comprised of The Rev. Frank Allen and The Rev. Kevin Moroney (both of St. David’s Episcopal Church, Wayne), and The Rev. Hillary Raining of St. Christopher’s Church in Gladwyne--played everything from hits by the Beatles to Mumford and Sons. The Singing Vicars know how to rock.
The event was an opportunity for guests from several churches to see old friends and meet new friends all while raising funds and awareness for St. James School. As an added surprise, an anonymous donor agreed to match all funds raised through the event. Guests rose to the challenge and helped raise a full student scholarship and then some. The evening’s fundraising totaled $34,000.
