Episcopal Academy teacher and girls’ cross-country coach Tim Gavin recently attempted the 100K Mason-Dixon Longest Day Challenge, and while he fell short of the finish line, his perseverance resulted in more than $4,000 in pledges for his goal – the St. James School in Philadelphia.
The St. James School will open in September and will give qualified students in the West Allegheny area of Philadelphia the opportunity to receive a quality education. Gavin felt that running a 100K would be a great way to bring some attention to the school.
