St. James School is excited to partner with Tune Up Philly, an education program of Philadelphia Youth Orchestra dedicated to bringing classical music instruction to urban children.
On January 14, students eagerly attended introductory after school lessons to the violin, clarinet, and flute. Students will have the opportunity to pick the instrument they are most interested in learning and receive specialized training in small group lessons with Tune Up Philly instructors. The practice schedule is rigorous: over 6 hours a week with instructors plus additional practice time at home. Students are up for the challenge, however, and will be unveiling their new skills at a Tune Up Philly concert late spring.
