Our Unlocking the Gate with Music event was a huge success. With over 300 people in attendance and two scholarships raised, we couldn’t have asked for better results. Thank you to the boys of the renowned choir school of St. Thomas Church, NYC, for sharing their talents with us and to St. Mark’s Church for their incredible hospitality.
The evening began with a brief introduction from Fr. Sean Mullen, Rector of St. Mark’s Church, followed by a telling of the After School program at St. James School from Executive Director David Kasievich. A video presented the story of After School and its successes as testimonied by parents. Afterward, the current students of the After School program joined Fr. Mullen and Mr. Kasievich at the front of the church and welcomed the applauding audience.
The boys from St. Thomas Choir School promenaded proudly in their red robes in perfect lineup at the front of the church and promptly began what was a stellar performance.
