Students and youth group leaders from St. James Church in Lothian, MD, arrived at St. James School prepared for a weekend of service, prayer and fellowship. The spirited group of young people took on the challenge of painting, organizing basement work rooms and pulling up carpet from old offices. The group was invited to consider St. James School as a spring service site by Canon for Youth Ministry Andrew Kellner from the Episcopal Diocese of Pennsylvania. Andrew provided the program portion of the weekend while St. James School provided the hospitality and service opportunities. The group also had an opportunity to enjoy the sites of Philadelphia and participate in the Palm Sunday service at the Church of the Advocate. Students and group leaders from Lothian hope to return to Philadelphia to continue their work that will benefit of the young people at our school.
